The mission of Lakes Crisis & Resource Center is: “Fostering safety, hope, and healing through advocacy, intervention, and education.”

Lakes Crisis & Resource Center is a nonprofit community advocacy program providing direct services to abused adults and children and victims of sexual assault and general crimes. In addition, it operates a parenting time center, a mentoring program for youth, family group decision making, parenting groups, mental health services, and a number of other collaborative programs.

Many of the women and children who live in our shelter do not have access to adequate transportation. We are looking for people who would be available to drive clients to various appointments, shopping, or to church. Time would be very flexible and fit into your schedule.

General Office Cleaning

We are looking for volunteers to periodically clean our agency. Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, wiping windows, sanitizing toys, etc..

Special Event Volunteers

Lakes Crisis and Resource Center have fundraising events several times a year. Our biggest event is our annual banquet in March. We are always in need of volunteers for these events. It could be serving food, busing tables, selling tickets, event set-up and tear-down, etc..

The women and children who reside in our domestic violence shelter are frequently looking for fun activities and events to participate in. Do you have a special skill that you would like to teach? Crafts? Cooking? Games? The possibilities are endless. Schedules are flexible. Daytime, evenings, or weekends.
